Description

A Classic Buffalo Chicken Wrap combines tender shredded chicken coated in spicy buffalo wing sauce with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. This easy-to-make American favorite is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner, offering a flavorful, satisfying meal with a touch of heat balanced by creamy ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Ingredients

Scale

Buffalo Chicken Mixture

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
  • 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce (plus more to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon ranch or blue cheese dressing (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for milder flavor)

Wrap Assembly

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion (optional)
  • Extra ranch or blue cheese dressing for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare Buffalo Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the cooked chicken, buffalo wing sauce, and butter if using. Stir continuously until the chicken is heated through and evenly coated with the sauce. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly for easier handling.
  2. Warm Tortillas: Warm the flour tortillas either in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side or microwave them briefly to make them flexible and easier to roll.
  3. Assemble Wraps: Lay each warmed tortilla flat. Evenly distribute shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced red onion if using, and shredded cheddar cheese on each tortilla. Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture over the vegetables and cheese, then drizzle with ranch or blue cheese dressing to taste.
  4. Roll the Wraps: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly like a burrito to encase the fillings. Slice each wrap in half on a diagonal for serving.
  5. Optional Toasting: For added crunch and warmth, grill or toast the wraps in a clean skillet over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden and crisp. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Great use for leftover rotisserie chicken or grilled chicken to save time.
  • Make this recipe low-carb by using large lettuce leaves as wraps instead of flour tortillas.
  • Adjust the spiciness by adding more or less buffalo sauce according to your preference.
  • Butter is optional; it mellows the heat and adds richness if desired.
  • Serve extra ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping or drizzling.
