Description

This Crockpot Chicken and Noodles recipe is a comforting, hearty dish perfect for busy days when you want a homemade meal with minimal effort. Tender chicken breasts are slow-cooked with creamy chicken soup, chicken broth, and seasonings, then combined with egg noodles for a satisfying one-pot dinner that’s flavorful and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Soup Base

  • 1.5–2 lb chicken breasts
  • 2 (10.5 oz) cans cream of chicken soup
  • ½ stick butter, cut into pats
  • 3.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Noodles and Garnish

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 2–4 tbsp dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot and season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chicken bouillon to infuse flavor into the meat.
  2. Add Soup Layers: Spread both cans of cream of chicken soup evenly over the chicken breasts to create a creamy base for the dish.
  3. Add Butter and Broth: Dot the butter pats on top of the soup-covered chicken, then pour in the chicken broth to provide moisture and help cook the noodles later.
  4. Slow Cook the Chicken: Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours until the chicken is tender and easily shreddable.
  5. Shred the Chicken: Using two forks, shred the cooked chicken directly in the crockpot to distribute the meat throughout the sauce.
  6. Add Egg Noodles: Add the egg noodles to the crockpot, pressing them down so they are fully submerged in the liquid to ensure even cooking.
  7. Cook Noodles: Cover again and continue cooking for 20 to 30 minutes until the egg noodles are softened and tender.
  8. Final Seasoning and Garnish: Stir in dried parsley for freshness, adjust salt and pepper seasoning if needed, then serve the dish warm for a comforting meal.

Notes

  • For richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth instead of store-bought.
  • You can substitute dried parsley with fresh parsley for a brighter taste.
  • If you prefer thicker noodles, cook them separately and add them just before serving.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently before serving.
