Ingredients
Scale
Dough and Sliders
- 1 can (8 count) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Topping
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the garlic knots.
- Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a bowl, mix your shredded or chopped cooked chicken with marinara sauce until the chicken is evenly coated. Set this mixture aside for filling the sliders.
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Lightly grease the parchment-lined baking sheet with olive oil or nonstick spray to prevent the knots from sticking during baking.
- Shape and Bake Knots: Separate the biscuit dough into individual pieces and roll each piece into a small rope. Tie each rope into simple knots and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the knots turn golden brown.
- Assemble Sliders: Once the knots have slightly cooled enough to handle, slice each knot in half horizontally. Place a spoonful of the marinara-coated chicken and a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese on the bottom half of each knot. Top with the other half to form sliders.
- Melt Cheese: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese melts and the sliders are heated through.
- Prepare Garlic Butter and Finish: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic and chopped fresh parsley. Brush this garlic-parsley butter generously over the warm tops of each slider and then sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over them.
- Serve: Serve the garlic knot chicken parm sliders immediately, with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use refrigerated biscuit dough for easy shaping and baking, but homemade dough can work as well.
- Shredded rotisserie chicken is a convenient and flavorful option.
- Be careful not to overbake the knots initially as they will bake again after assembly.
- Brush the garlic butter while the sliders are warm for maximum flavor absorption.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the melty cheese and soft garlic knots at their best.
