Description

Parmesan Roasted Broccoli is a quick and flavorful side dish featuring tender broccoli florets roasted to perfection with garlic, olive oil, and a generous sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. This easy-to-make recipe delivers a deliciously crispy and cheesy vegetable that complements any main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 6 cups broccoli florets

Seasonings & Oils

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Cheese

  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly spray a medium baking sheet with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine broccoli and seasonings: Spread the broccoli florets evenly in a single layer on the baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil and minced garlic, then drizzle this mixture evenly over the broccoli. Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  3. Toss and season: Toss the broccoli gently to coat all pieces with oil, garlic, and Parmesan. After tossing, ensure the broccoli is spread back out in a single layer on the baking sheet. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
  4. Roast the broccoli: Bake for 10 minutes, then carefully flip or toss the broccoli to encourage even cooking. Continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and the edges are golden crisp. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra kick, sprinkle some red pepper flakes before roasting.
  • You can substitute Parmesan cheese with Pecorino Romano if preferred.
  • If you like softer broccoli, extend the roasting time by 5 minutes.
  • Use fresh garlic rather than garlic powder for best flavor.
