Ingredients
Scale
Wraps and Filling
- 4 large flour tortillas or spinach wraps
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 ounces smoked salmon, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup baby spinach or arugula
- 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with fresh or dried dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Spread the mixture on tortillas: Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Evenly spread a quarter of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of the tortilla, creating a smooth layer.
- Add the fillings: Lay smoked salmon slices over the cream cheese layer. Top with baby spinach or arugula and add a few thin slices of red onion if desired.
- Roll the tortillas: Carefully and tightly roll up the tortilla from one end to the other, keeping the filling snug inside to prevent it from falling out.
- Repeat for all wraps: Repeat steps 2 through 4 with the remaining tortillas and filling ingredients.
- Chill to set: Wrap each rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up and make slicing easier.
- Slice and serve: Remove the rolls from the fridge and unwrap. Using a sharp knife, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and garnish with extra dill or lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
- These pinwheels are ideal for appetizers, brunches, or make-ahead snacks.
- For extra flavor, try using flavored cream cheese such as herb or chive varieties.
- Whole wheat or gluten-free wraps can be used as a substitute for flour tortillas.
- Keep pinwheels refrigerated until serving to maintain freshness.
